Visit to Owen Ivins Shamo and his Family - Feb 2010.

We recently had a great trip to Connecticut to visit Owen Ivins Shamo. He was the focus of our visit and I was so happy to see him. Sandra had been with Janae when Owen was born, so this was her second meeting. This trip would not have happened without him. We are so happy that he is here and a part of our family. We can already see the great blessing that he is in our lives and will be in the lives of others.
Janae and Owen were able to meet us at the airport.
Sandra was happy to see Owen again.
Lisa was also able to go with us to Connecticut.
Here I am with Owen on our arrival.
Rick was on an outpatient rotation on family medicine and able to be with us while we were visiting. Here is the proud father.
We also enjoyed being with Wyatt. He is getting very independent. Here he show a mixture of his talents as he helps make cookies with a Home Depot Apron.
On Friday evening, Clint was able to join us after a "zig-zag" trip across the central United States with a dozens stops in three days as part of his companies outreach program to meet with all employees in their organization. However, his most taxing trip was probably his flight to join us which connected from Houston through Atlanta to Hartford arriving at midnight. It was great to have him with us.
On Saturday, we went "duck bowling."
Sandra is an excellent "duck bowler." She got a strike with her first ball!!! Be sure to check out her video below.
Owen was a patient spectator.
As you can see when you look at the picture that Rick was amazed and Clint stunned. Why?
Everyone was extremely impressed with Sandra had the high score of 82. Which is an outstanding score in "duck bowling." Notice the strike in the first frame. Rick, Clint, and Grant were all way behind.
We then went out to lunch for a surprise celebration of Rick's birthday in March. I think everyone was very surprised. Here are Clint and Lisa at lunch.
Here are Sandra and I at lunch.
Sunday was the big day!!!! Here is Owen all ready to go to his blessing.
Rick did a great job at the blessing. After the blessing, we had a wonderful celebration for Owen. There were friends, neighbors, and relatives. Everyone helped out with the preparations except for Grant who just sat around taking pictures. Here is Rick hard at work.
Clint hard at work. Note the veggie squares - A big hit!
Lisa hard at work making a her special salad - another big hit!
Sandra also was busy.
It was a great day. Here is the entire Shamo family.
Here are Clint and Lisa with Owen.
Here are Lisa and Owen sharing a joke. At times I think Owen would look at Lisa and think, "Is this my mother? She sure looks a lot like my Mom."
Sandra and I had a great time with everyone in Connecticut. I wish you all could have been there.
Check out these great videos of Wyatt with his next door neighbor friend, Anna. Also highlights form duck bowling.

We had a great time in Connecticut with the family that was there. It is always hard to go back home without Rick, Janae, Wyatt, and Owen. Sure do miss the families that do not live in Utah.

Did I see the name Sandy on the scoreboard for bowling? What's up with that? We don't get to call her that. It looks like a great trip and Owen is adorable!
